I have always loved coffee and drink it every morning. From the begging of the year, I have wanted to paint with it. I searched for objects to paint that are rustic and put off and old feeling. After I found the clock face, I decided to make it more interesting and put an older man crying on it. The meaning behind it is time is ticking away, and the metaphoric “grandfather” is very upset about it. The balance and shape of the clock along with the dark shadows and highlights allowed me to create my most interesting piece this year.
